[accordion] [accordion_section title=”Adult Bible Fellowships” active=”true”] The book of Acts describes the early church as devoted to “the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). One of our goals at Racine Bible Church is to cultivate an environment where these practices regularly occur, and where we are able to practice the Biblical “one-anothers,” such as caring for one another (1 Cor 12:25), serving one another (Gal 5:13), encouraging one another (Col 3:16), praying for one another (James 5:16), visiting in one another’s homes (1 Peter 4:9), and admonishing one another (Rom 15:14), all under the loving care of pastors and shepherds.

Adult Bible Fellowships are groups of 20-60 people who meet to carry out these biblical one anothers. They meet during both first and second hour every Sunday morning. Each ABF incorporates elder leadership, team teaching, and an emphasis on both Biblical teaching and Biblical fellowship. These groups regularly serve, encourage and pray for each other. We desire that every person in the congregation participate by regularly fellowshipping with other believers in one of our ABFs.

Our goal is to have a church filled with people who are united in their love for Christ and for one another, growing in knowledge and Christian maturity, equipped to serve one another in the body and bring glory to our Lord (Eph 4:11-16).

[/columns] [/accordion_section] [accordion_section title=”Firm Foundations”] firmfoundationlogoAccording to Ephesians 4:11-12, the goal of the leaders of the church should be to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry.” It is our desire at RBC to be purposeful and effective in equipping people to minister in the name of Christ. This involves offering people more in-depth study of the Bible, training in various areas of ministry, and Biblical teaching on various aspects of the Christian life, with a purpose of seeing people gain a clearer understanding of God and His Word, along with a greater practical outworking of that Word in their lives.

To help accomplish our purpose, we have instituted a Wednesday evening ministry called Firm Foundation. The church offers several classes, providing a situation where individuals can study various topics more in-depth in a smaller, more intimate, setting. Believers will have the opportunity to interact with the teacher, ask questions, and concentrate their studies on one particular subject for eight weeks at a time.

It is our prayer that God would use this ministry to give believers at RBC the foundation needed to grow in godliness, Biblical understanding, and service to the Body.

Fall 2018 Classes:

  • Practical Christianity: How to Grow in the Christian Life  Teacher: Jared Baergen

This class is exploring topics such as putting off sin, putting on holiness, spiritual warfare, suffering and trials, Bible reading and prayer, how the growth process works, why we still struggle with sin, pitfalls to avoid, and persevering until the end. Regardless of how old you are or how long you have been a Christian, the goal of this class is to help all Christians live more like Christ.  If you struggle with sin, desire to put it off, and want to live more like Jesus, then this class is for you. Please join in room 179 for this class.

  • Time for Prayer

This is not a class on prayer; but a time for prayer. Each week will have a prayer focus led by a Pastor or elder and we will spend the bulk of our time praying together for our church, our community, or nation and ourselves. Please join in room 178 for prayer.
