Book of Hebrews in Pre-Op

Book of Hebrews in Pre-Op

Spent the day with Drew and Amy and their families up at Froedert Hospital yesterday.

Drew is pastoral intern here at RBC, our dear friend, and godly mentor to my sons and many more in the congregation as he leads in worship and in an ABF.

The neurosurgery to remove the mass in his right frontal lobe went, according to the surgeon, “Really, really well.” They have yet to make many more decisions about further treatment.

They allowed me to wait with Drew in the pre-op area. We had a good, long wait. During that time, we started reading the book of Hebrews. Drew said, “Just start it and maybe we will have time to get though the whole thing. I would love to hear the whole thing.” We did.

Hearing that entire book, out loud, in that setting was unforgettable.

These verses stood out as remarkably strengthening for us:

4:14-16

6:10

7:24-25

10:12-14

12:1-2

13:6

13:20-21

We continue praying for Drew, Amy and soon-to-arrive baby.

We pray to the living God.

We pray along with the prevailing prayers of the Risen God Man Jesus.

He is faithful.
