I have been applying my attention today to the staff evaluations that we do at RBC every year.
John Anderson changed the process this year. (Chances are, if you think you have seen me do something decent in leadership here at RBC, you have John to thank for it)
I suppose it is partly due to the changes John introduced and partly my own growth that has motivated me to apply myself more diligently to the evaluation process this time around.
I really enjoyed the hours I spent on it today.
One of the questions is “Describe success in your ministry.”
Here is part of what I wrote:
I am successful in ministry if I –
love the Lord my God with all my heart and strength
love people with persistent purpose and sustained sacrifice
am a godly husband representing Christ’s love to Amy
am a Spirit filled father nurturing Carly, Sam and Rylie in the love of God
am a compelling preacher, presenting messages that are used by the Spirit to equip the saints
am a good steward of my mind, body and time
am leading leaders
