Four things I am thankful for

Four things I am thankful for

RBC Youth ministry. I was happy (but not surprised) to hear this story from one of our high school students this week. “I brought a friend to youth group for the first time on Wednesday. The guys in the group really reached out to him. It was awesome to see how they befriended him immediately. He had a great experience and wants to come back.”
Amy and I shared a meal this week with a couple who is just about 20 years ahead of us. I am so thankful that God has placed people, His people, in the church and in our lives. We all need a living example we can look to, somebody we can talk to, who is a little bit further down the path than we are.
Terri, Donna and other ladies who are serving at the RBC women’s retreat today and tomorrow. Join me at the throne of grace on their behalf. I am praying that God will guard their minds with His truth and direct their hearts in His ways by His Word. I am praying that each participant will find fellowship with sisters who will encourage her.
I cannot wait to preach God’s Word this Sunday. I am starting a short series – Know God No Idols. Let’s not forget that the most important thing in the church will never be its pastor, its programs or its people. It will always be God. Jeremiah nine is our text Sunday.
