How to read the Bible and pray
-
Set at time in the morning to do it. -
Do not turn on the computer or phone until after the time is completed. -
Do it.
Was that helpful enough?
Here is some more help…
Meditation is the missing link between Bible reading and prayer.
The two are often disjointed but they should be united.
Prayer and Bible reading should mutually help each other.
One way they do this is through meditation.
Meditation is considering the Word of God in my mind and heart until it becomes a prayer.
Every time meditation is mentioned in Psalm 119 it is in a prayer.
Psalm 119:7, 15, 16, 27, 47, 48, 129-131
When I am meditating on the Word of God then prayer becomes a time when my heart gives God’s Word back to Him.
Meditation is that middle connection between the Word and prayer.
This is the best way I have found for my Bible reading to seep in, saturate my heart, and change my prayers.
So that my prayer lifts up back to God His very Word He spoke to me.
My speaking, my thinking, my praying, my wishing, my desiring has all been changed by reading and meditating upon the Word of God!
