That was weird. I caught just three minutes of something on the AM radio. It was like everything weird, aberrant, cheesy and misleading all rolled into one…
I don’t know if it was a regular show or an infomercial. I would guess infomercial.
I picked up on all of these elements:
The host was interviewing someone about getting rich with real estate investments. Was this a get-rich-quick-by-buying-my investment-system-complete-with-motivational-CDs program?
They dropped a few quasi-biblical phrases that made it sound like they were putting a Christian veneer on this wealth system. Was this a prosperity gospel thing?
The guest opened up about some hopes and unfulfilled dreams from childhood that motivated him toward becoming more successful. Was this a psychology talk-show about understanding the present through breaking free from a dysfunctional past?
They talked about serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the brain which may vary in times of stress and anxiety. They were associating this with making good investment decisions. Was this a show advocating bio-psychiatry and the use of SNRI drugs?
It was weird.
