I want to live centered. Not eccentrically.

I want to live centered. Not eccentrically.

So we have several of those little “thought for the day” books around the house.

I picked up one of them on my birthday and checked it out.

I really liked the short thought this particular book presented on my day.

Disclaimer: I’m not getting all fortune cookie on you here.

I just thought it was neat.

“Neat” that’s all – not mystical or spiritual or sign-from-the-great-beyond.

End of disclaimer.

Thought for the Day of November 30

Worship is meeting at the center so that our lives are centered in God and not lived eccentrically. We worship so that we live in response to and from this center, the living God. Failure to worship consigns us to a life of spasms and jerks, at the mercy of every advertisement, every seduction, every siren. Without worship we live manipulated and manipulating lives. We move in either frightened panic or deluded lethargy.

People who do not worship are swept into a vast restlessness, epidemic in the world, with no steady direction and no sustaining purpose. Eugene Peterson
