Jesus was thirsty

Jesus was thirsty

The true human nature of Jesus is emphasized throughout the gospel of John.

1:14

4:6, 7

8:40

11:33-35

His humanity is sympathetic. He knows our needs.

Next time you are tired and thirsty, remember this: Christ, in the days he was here, felt just like that … yet without sin.

His humanity was selfless.

He who knows our needs thinks not of himself but of us. Think of his selflessness and restraint. Although he was man, and could be weary and thirsty; he was God and could alleviate weariness and thirst. Yet he never served himself, he always used his strength to serve others.

His humanity was weak but his love was always strong.

He was weary and he cared anyway.

He was exhausted and he ministered through it anyway.

Getting the drink of water he needed and requested was not nearly as important as giving the woman the gift she did not even know she needed.
