I wish every church was built with a cemetery beside it. Our forefathers had good reasons for doing things that way. They knew what we forget. Death is the end of every man.
The Christian ministry is not about this life only, but about the one which is coming. In our efforts to help people, which are all well and good, we easily forget that life is not about this life. We love to learn and teach the Scriptures, to sing His praises and fellowship with each other. But every sermon, every song, every small group discussion might be your last one in this life. Never forget that.
