monday update

Lord willing, Brennan and Sara Uthe will arrive in town tonight. Brennan is joining our pastoral staff team. I wonder if he has any earthly idea what its like to work with Darien, Dan, Wayne & John. It is crazy fun.

My heart is full to overflowing after hearing Dan Schneider on Sunday. He gave testimony to what the Spirit of God is doing out in the fields where Dan and Joan serve and preached the Word with power. A few words that are still ringing in my ears…

We need to stop thinking about how God fits into our stories. It is about how we fit into His.

The great commission runs from Genesis through Malachi and again from Matthew to Revelation.

World evangelization will always be important because it rolls off of all the pages of Scripture, from Genesis through Revelation.

Our sin is so terrible, so problematic and so cosmic that only a solution bigger than anything we could possibly imagine could solve it and save us.

There is a kind of mission that God hates: our mission of self-reliance and self-glorification.

Revelation 5:9-10 and 7:9-10. The final picture is that all the nations are going to enter in, with white hot worship to the God Who has saved them all.

You all have no idea how much this helps us to keep our heads held high while we are far away. We know that we are sent by a church that is committed to the gospel, true to the Word, and filled with the love of God in Christ.
