O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and your glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
In the first verse of Psalm 63, God is called “my” God.
The personal pronoun is attached to the name of God.
This is big.
Sometimes it’s the little things that reveal the most astounding reality if you look at them.
Here is one little thing – that two letter word “my.” God is called “my God.”
This is too wonderful for words.
It means He knows me and loves me and identifies me as His own and lets me call Him mine.
The power of prayer lies in being able to say “God, you are my God.”
The reality of this relationship with God belongs to those who can say “God you are my God because you are my Savior. I come to you – with confidence – because I come confessing the Name of Jesus Christ my Lord.”
