My favorite lunch

My favorite lunch

Like many pastors, I make my share of lunch appointments.

But my best lunches happen on Fridays.

Today we had scrambled eggs, cinnamon toast, english muffins and fruit.

Here are a few random comments lofted up around our table this noon:

I never peel bananas from the top. I don’t know why everyone does. They always end up squishy that way. Start at the bottom. It is the only way to go. Haven’t peeled one from the top in years.

The world record for balancing stainless steel spoons on your face is held by a fifth grader. He can do fifteen.

Stop making unnecessary smacking noises with your mouth. That is gross.

Seriously, tonight at the party, I’m gonna break my record for eating cream-puffs. No doubt about it.

I love Friday lunches. Nobody cracks you up like your family.

My Bible tells me that the fruit of the Spirit is joy.

But then my Friday lunch surprises me with the wonderful experience that a Spirit-filled home has more than its share of joy.
