Psalm 19:12-14
Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me…
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of me heart
Be acceptable in Your sight…
What are secret faults?
Are they so hidden that they are hidden even from the one committing them?
Is that the difference between secret sins and presumptuous sins?
The meditation of the heart sounds like an important phrase too.
Does that represent the wishes and intentions and motives of the heart?
Am I even capable of being fully aware of these inner elements of my own heart?
Don’t forget that these phrases come at the end of Psalm 19.
This Psalm resonates with the strength and sufficiency of Scripture.
The best place for me to look for knowledge of myself is the Word of God.
