Isaiah 40:12-21
If we can think of anything that would limit God, then it cannot be true of God. Yet infinitude does not merely mean rejecting any quality that would limit God; it also means that God is his perfections in infinite measure. God’s essence is unbounded and immeasurable in every way.
But notice that even our language here – infinite measure – defies itself, for something that is infinite has no measure. Even our attempts to describe an infinite God in our language are trapped by the finitude of our grammar.
