In the book Age of Opportunity Paul Tripp tells a great story about finding out that his teenager daughter got into big trouble at school.
He writes wonderfully about the emotions that parents feel at these moments. These emotions are powerful and natural yet they are selfish and prideful at the core.
Then he writes this:
“These situations can be greeted as moments of sovereignly given opportunity to shepherd the hearts God has exposed in our teenagers. Or they can become moments where a wedge of distance and anger is driven even more deeply between us and our teenage children.”
We plan on discussing how to avoid the latter and pursue the former in our teen parenting class Sunday night.
If you attend RBC on Sunday mornings and don’t come to Firm Foundations on Sunday evenings… you are missing out!
