Ever borrowed someone’s car and dented it?
I have.
Ever get a really bad grade and bring it home to your parents?
I have.
Ever have friend #1 tell you some really bad news and then tell you that you have to share it with friend # 2?
I have.
And the thing is … in each of those situations I felt the same way.
I did not want to share the news.
Everything in me wanted to avoid it.
I did not want to tell them about the dent.
I certainly did not want to tell them about the bad grade.
And who would want to tell a friend really sad news? Not me.
This Sunday is Easter Sunday.
And this week you do not have to feel that way.
Jesus Christ died on the cross. This is great news. He loves the world!
Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. This is spectacular news. He has the power to save!
You need to share this news. This week.
Don’t be ashamed of it.
Don’t shuffle your feet and mumble your words about it.
Jesus killed death.
Sin, in all its sorrow and misery, gets slaughtered.
Tell somebody.
Invite someone to church. Every day from now to Sunday tell somebody where we are and when we meet.
Just share. Simply ask.
See what happens.
Don’t be ashamed.
Share the news.
