What a great day yesterday.
Many thanks are in order.
Thank you to:
Jay Seegert for a very well received presentation last night on creation, evolution, science and Scripture. I lost count last night of how many walked up to me and said, “This was so helpful. We need to have him back for more.”
Darien for leading last night and making the whole thing happen.
All the little kids in the morning service for being so cute, singing with smiles, waving the branches and ringing the bells.
All the adults who work with our kids week in and week out. Thank you for preparing them to praise our Savior.
The middle school and high school choir and those who work with them.
The RBC choir and worship teams, Patricia and all the leaders.
I had such great joy in preaching the gospel yesterday from Romans 1:16-17 and 5:12-18. Pondering the power of God in the gospel and the goodness of the good news we share always excites me.
I found this prayer written by Scottish Pastor Thomas Chalmers. It is based on Romans 1:16-17.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Here is the prayer. Make it your own.
Almighty God, let me not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Let me experience it as Thy power unto salvation; and may the righteousness of faith which is therein revealed be received by me so submissively and believingly as to become my righteousness unto spiritual life here and everlasting life hereafter.
