I cannot be absolutely certain, but I am pretty sure that this is a first for Racine Bible Church.
The sermon for Sunday was written at the skate park.
Monday morning the boys asked if I would take them. I grabbed my Bible, my folder of study notes and off we went.
No, I did not work on the sermon while riding on a skate board.
I sat at a table.
Half the time I faced the park. I sat this way for two reasons, first, to give a thumbs up for tricks landed (or at least attempted) and, second, to ensure that no arms were broken in the process.
The other half of the time I faced the lake. It was stunning on Monday morning — all greens and blues and sparkling silver.
The warm sun, the gigantic, puffy, white clouds, the sounds of the water hitting the rocks and the sounds of the boards sliding up and down the ramps all combined to form a study environment that worked for me on Monday morning.
