This makes me laugh

This is posted in honor of Scott, our highly esteemed Church handy-man…

A very fine minister with silver hair was walking through the sanctuary of his church one day, and, as it happened, the sun was shining through one of the stained glass windows, and hit the altar just perfectly. He was overwhelmed with a sense of his own unworthiness, and so he ran down to the front of the church, fell on his face before the communion table, and began crying out, “Oh, Lord, I am nothing, I am nothing!”

A few minutes later, his associate pastor happened to be walking through, and he saw the same sunlight shining on the altar just right, not to mention the sight of his spiritual superior prostrate on the floor, crying out that he was nothing. The associate pastor was equally overwhelmed, and so he ran down to the front of the church, fell on his face next to the senior pastor, and began crying out, “Oh, Lord, I too am nothing!”

And then the doors of the sanctuary opened again, and through them came the church janitor, carrying a bucket and mop. Now of course, when he saw the awe-inspiring stained glass performance, not to mention the two men of God down in front confessing their abject unworthiness, what could he do? He was overwhelmed, completely undone. He dropped the mop and bucket, and ran down to the front of the church, crying out, “Oh, Lord, I am nothing, nothing!”

After he fell to the floor, sobbing, the associate pastor poked the senior pastor in the ribs, and nodded at the janitor. “Look who thinks he’s nothing,” he said.
