- Pete brought us a brief Bible study out of Philippians 4:8 and other related passages. He had us laughing (really hard) with that ad where the German Coast Guard trainee asks the ship “What are you sinking about?” And then he had us convicted (just as hard) about our thoughts, self-control in the mind and thinking unto Christ’s glory.
- Pastors are supposed to submit written reports ahead of time. Dan was late with his Board Report. Wayne had the nerve to make a comment about Dan missing the deadline. Dan’s response was a classic. “Ok Wayne. Just remember. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”
- Somebody made rice crispy treats but they added a surprise. They actually had cappuccino in them.
- Two different men shared with me about their relationships with current unbelievers who are asking the right questions and seem to be getting close to trusting Christ as Lord.
- How our men pray for church growth. Not about numbers, but about gospel growth in breadth and depth. We want to see the gospel penetrating deeper into the lives of members and reaching further out into our community so that more members are added.
