We are back from a week’s vacation.
Separate vacations.
The kids were in California.
Amy and I were at a house on the lake thirty miles north of the Dells.
I know you know this. But let me say it again.
I love my wife. She is my best friend.
We took long walks, rode bikes, played tennis, hiked in the state parks, read by the pool (Amy read Cry the Beloved Country and some John Owen. I read a couple of books on the Pentateuch, a collection of short mystery stories, and Presidential Courage by Beschloss).
We also cracked up at a book our friends had on their shelf at the lake house, Letters from a Nut. Hilarious.
We saw deer every night and almost ran into wild turkey on our bike rides.
I saw a bald eagle soaring over the water just after sunrise on Thursday. Awesome.
Can’t wait for church tomorrow.
One of my favorite people is in the pulpit (Daniel Miller) and students from the high school ministry will be sharing testimonies too.
