There are so many, many reasons that I love being Pastor to the RBC family.
Real life that God gives us in relationships is sweeter and funnier than any artificial stuff we could create.
This is an actual email I received last week from a young mom in our congregation.
So [my son] turned on the iPod in the kitchen to listen to music this morning and what came on was your sermon on The Belt of Truth, but to my surprise he left it on. He said he kind of likes it. When I said, “Oh really, you do?” He said, “Yeah, it’s kind of boring, but not too much.”
I know this wouldn’t typically be considered much of a compliment, but from a 6-year-old, I thought it was as close as any preacher might get— without making specific references to Pokemon or Batman in the homily, that is. 🙂
