Where am I?

Where am I?

Sending this in from the Holiday Inn of Marshfield.

We are here for the IFCA Wisconsin regional conference.

This hotel has a little waterpark in it so I talked the boys into coming with me. Good times.

My buddy Bill is Pastor of the host church, Community Bible Church of Stratford.

He is a wise counselor and good leader. I have learned a lot from him.

Also George Filber has been interning with him up here. It was great to see Georgie.

We asked him if he wanted to have dinner with us on Tuesday but – believe it or not – he had a bow hunt scheduled and had to decline.

The speaker for the conference was Gary Gilley.

He taught from his book on finding God’s will.

He wrote that book to counter the prevailing tendency toward a soft form of mysticism.

You know this even if you have not called it by that name. “The Lord told me,” “I just felt a peace,” and that type of thing.

Pastor Gilley is insistent about God leading us through Scripture and makes a strong case for this point of view in the book.

The hotel is nice. The pool and water slide are fantastic. But they don’t provide breakfast and we ran out of donuts late last night.

All I can find in our room this morning is an empty donut box, some cokes, sugar babies, peanuts, and a half bag of pretzels.

We gotta go find some breakfast.
