why you need to go to church

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend together with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

We grow in community. God designed it that way.

In the church, God wants to use each of us in the lives of others.

God has made us in such a way that our fellowship with Him is fed constantly by our fellowship with others who are in fellowship with Him.

God has made you, and the church, in such a way that there are contours of His love that you will only get by being in the church. That is one of the mind-blowing things that Ephesians 3:17-21 is saying.

The height of His love is unscalable.

The depth of His love is unfathomable.

The breadth of His love is unencompassable.

It is beyond knowledge and it is knowable.

We can know it more that we currently do.

And we gain this knowledge together with all the saints.

The love of God, in all of its inexhaustible dimensions, requires all of the people of God in order to be sounded out and experienced.

The love of Christ is beyond your capacity to take in on your own.

You need to experience it together with all the saints.

That is one more reason you need to go to church.
