John Calvin told me something scary this morning.
Really scary.
I was on my second cup of coffee, watching the rain cascade down, and Calvin says this…
The most hurtful of all plagues in the congregation,
the deadliest of all poisons in the church,
is a minister who seeks his own interests rather than those of Christ.
Think of it.
Am I a minister of Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ came not to what but to what? (Be served but serve).
He came to deliver those around Him though He Himself was spit on and abused.
Am I His minister?
How could I make the ministry about how people treat me?
As soon as I do I am no longer His minister.
May that never be.
