So the other day I heard Mumford and Sons singing. The song was saying life would be different, my situation would be different – ‘if only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy”
I like that line.
It explains why so many are so stuck, so frozen, so lifeless and hopeless and stuck.
If only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy
You do. It is sin.
God hates it. Christ’s skin took the nails for it. He died for it.
Sin is that enemy that will twist and destroy everything it touches.
Adrian Rogers used to say, “Sin fascinates, then it assassinates. It thrills, then it kills. It will take you farther than you wanted to go, keep you longer than you wanted to stay, and cost you more than you were willing to pay.”
So, hate sin. Fear it. Flee it.
Bring it to Jesus. He is the only One who can take it away.
