Welcome to Youth Ministry!
Sunday Mornings: High school and middle school student meet during second service (10:45am-12:00pm) for an ABF class tailored to them. Students should attend the first worship service (9:00-10:30 am) and come to the youth ABF class during second service. For the 2025-2026 school year we will be studying the book of James and then the Old Testament.
ABF Schedule:
10:30 Arrive/Hangout
10:45 ABF starts/Announcements
10:55 Intro/Fellowship Time
(examples: testimony, missions
highlight, prayer, etc)
11:20 Teaching (same as ABFs)
11:50 Small Group Discussion
12:00 ABF ends
Wednesday Nights: Youth group runs from 6:00-8:15pm, and our emphasis for the night is discipleship. We want to connect godly, mature adults with students to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus. The heartbeat of the night is our small group time. The students are divided into small groups, (by grade and gender) and have at least two adult discipleship leaders take them through a Bible study. For the year, we will study the Gospel of John.
Youth Group Schedule:
6:15 Games
6:40 Announcements
6:55 Worship
7:10 Bible Teaching
7:30 Response Song
7:35 Small Groups
8:15 Youth Group ends
Summer Training: On Wednesday nights in the summer, we pause youth group and start our youth training. This runs roughly the same time as youth group (6-8:30pm), but comes with the expectation of commitment (that students come every week) and homework (students are given assignments each week to complete and come ready to discuss). For students who complete the training and homework, they are eligible to participate on one of our three summer mission trips:
Outpost (McNaughton, WI) – 7th & 8th Grade
CEF Headquarters (Missouri) – Freshman and Sophomores
Camp Ripley (Cambridge, WI) – Juniors and Seniors
Events: All year long we have events for the students outside of our normal
Sunday/Wednesday schedule. The events range from Nerf nights and
parties, to serving meals to the homeless and visiting the elderly. Events
are announced to the students every Sunday and Wednesday and can
also be viewed on the calendar in the youth room and on our Instagram.
Fort Wilderness: Every year the youth group goes to Fort Wilderness in McNaughton, WI for a winter retreat. The weekend is filled with fun events, like broomball, tubing, horseback rides, cross country skiing, and much more. But even better than all these fun things is the time we have together to worship, pray, and hear from our speaker who explains God’s word. There are also small group times where students can talk with their leaders about what they have learned during the trip and ask any questions they may have.
